University of Calgary 2009 Scholarship Winner Edwards Land would like to congratulate Connor Smith of Calgary for being awarded our Annual Edwards Land Services – U of C Social Science Scholarship. Connor is a 4th year Urban Studies student with aspirations of attending grad school at UBC next year. Connor hopes to continue his education in the field of post-disaster land planning and will not doubt be successful in this field. Edwards Land is proud to support students like Connor who combine a high GPA with generous amounts of community involvement. Congratulations Connor and best of luck! Edwards Land Company Golf Tournament 2009 Edwards Land held it's 3rd annual company golf tournament on Saturday, September 26, 2009. The event began with a bbq held at Edwards Land Lethbridge office, and continued at Land O’Lakes Golf and Country Club in Coaldale, Alberta. We would like to thank all those who participated, helped with organization and helped with the bbq, to make this one of the year’s most memorable Edwards Land events.
Consistent with our Corporate Volunteering Initiative, a group of Edwards Land employees recently hit the community for a good cause. Much to the delight of the residents, Edwards Land Services provided painting and some general maintenance to one of Aspen Family Services’ group homes. Edwards Land Given Key to City of Lethbridge Edwards Land was among 11 Southern Alberta businesses presented with a Key to the City of Lethbridge at a ceremony at City Hall on Monday, January 26, 2009. This presentation marked the launch of the book “Little Empires – Multi-Generation Small Business in Southern Alberta” and the inclusion of these 11 businesses in the book. Little Empires is a collection of 11 first-person stories of successful business ventures in the region, written by two University of Lethbridge professors. It looks into the economic value and contributions of the area multi-generational businesses. Edwards Land and the Edwards Family are thrilled to be included in this insightful publication, and honored by the presentation from the City of Lethbridge. View photos from the ceremony.
